Japan’s three largest automakers are experiencing a decline in car sales in China. With the increasing demand for electric cars in the Chinese market, Toyota, Honda and Nissan sales failed to meet expectations.

Toyota, Honda and Nissan reported year-on-year declines in August sales in China. Toyota sold 152,100 vehicles, down 13 percent from a year ago and continues to decline for seven months. Honda, on the other hand, announced that it sold 56,959 vehicles in the last seven months, down 44 percent.

Finally, Nissan reported a 24 percent drop, selling 49,204 vehicles. The rapid changes in the automobile industry have led internal combustion manufacturers to change their strategies. Japanese brands that invested in gasoline-powered vehicles are experiencing difficulties in this process.
